Virtual Walk in the Park to End Poverty
Support a walker or walk yourself!
WHAT: Join us in our Virtual Walk in the Park to End Poverty, Saturday April 10th. All proceeds go to support the services and programs at AZCEND.
WHY: It may come as a surprise to you that Arizona has one of the highest poverty rates in the country. Nearly 25% of Arizona children live in poverty.
Each year we walk to honor people who are homebound, experiencing homelessness, undergoing financial setbacks, and others AZCEND serves in our community. While the need in Arizona is great, you can make a difference! All proceeds from the Virtual Walk in the Park to End Poverty benefit AZCEND programs that provide life-changing and empowering services to our community including food assistance, children’s early literacy classes, life skills for adults, rent and utility assistance, senior nutrition and services for people experiencing homelessness. We encourage you to take 45 minutes of your time to walk on Saturday, April 10th.In previous years we joined together and walked at a local park. This year, to practice safe social distancing, we’re asking you to still get outside and walk but share your photos and videos on our social media sites with us! We can all walk virtually together and spread the word about the life-changing services and programs of AZCEND.
