Hunger continues to affect far too many of our neighbors—right here in Maricopa County, 1 in 5 children and 1 in 7 seniors don’t have enough food to eat (Valley of the Sun United Way).
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Chandler-Gilbert Community College will host the 12th annual Empty Bowls event, bringing our community together to raise awareness of hunger and give hope for families in need.
Guests are invited to select a beautiful, handcrafted ceramic bowl—each one a unique work of art—and share a simple meal of bread, soup and water. This humble meal represents the caloric intake that sustains many people around the world for an entire day, far less than what is essential for a healthy, active adult. With a $15 donation, you’ll take home a meaningful reminder of the day while also ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
Your gift makes an incredible impact: just $15 provides 31 meals through the AZCEND food bank, which distributed more than one million meals last year to neighbors experiencing hunger, poverty and homelessness.
The event also features a silent auction with one-of-a-kind pieces created by talented advanced ceramics students at CGCC.
